Item Description 

This is the Musashi certified katana forged from T10 damascus steel and 65 grade MN steel.  This katana is traditionally forged using muku gitae method.  The traditional hand forging process carefully hardens and tempers steel and manganese together to create a strong and durable blade.  This blade is tempered to have 408 layers, and measures at 27".  The traditional mokko (papaya) shaped tsuba is contructed from steel and black finished.

The beautiful saya is made with hard wood and piano lacquer finished.  The end piece of the saya is made with geniune ox horn.

The Tsuka is constructed of two pieces of hard wood over the tang of the blade. Samegawa (ray skin) has been wrapped over the wood with a black cotton Ito wrapped over the Same. Two bamboo Mekugis secure the tang of the blade into the Tsuka. An oxidize finished brass Menuki adorns each side of the Tsuka. The Kashira is drak brass in flat design to match the design with the tsuba
